"I have always had a desire to give back! Although, I recognized starting and leading The Extraordinaires would be a huge commitment, it seemed like it would still be a fun way to give back. Looking back over a decade later, I am so proud of what we have all achieved together for Gordie Howe C.A.R.E.S. a tremendously important cause! Thank You to all who have helped us along the way, we appreciate it!"

Ron Evans - Captain

“The Extraordinaires are a group of passionate Calgarians who originally came together to support the fight against Alzheimer's locally in Calgary and have since expanded their reach to include the Calgary Food Bank as well as other local charitable recipients annually. To date the team has raised over $800,000 dollars of which the majority of funds raised has gone to Gordie Howe C.A.R.E.S. (Centre for Alzheimer’s Research and Education Society), a non-profit organization seeking to ‘care’ by ensuring dignity, support, and education for caregivers and others impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Each year, Gordie Howe C.A.R.E.S. hosts the annual Pro-Am Hockey Tournament which The Extraordinaires are proud to be a part of.”
